Terms and conditions of entry

1. The Promoter

2. The Competition

2.1 The title of the competition is FEST Back to School Free Prize Draw Competition.

2.2 Description: The “Back to School” Free Prize Draw Competition will run 1st – 30th September 2026. This is a free prize draw for UK schools to enter without obligation. Schools enter simply by completing an entry form located on the First Travel Solutions website (https://www.firsttravelsolutions.com/fest/competition). The closing date for entries is 23:59 on 30th September 2026. The prize is to win one of ten £1,000 vouchers to be discounted against the full cost of a 2 night / 3 day all-inclusive residential visit package at one of the listed destinations. The vouchers are not exchangeable for money and can only be redeemed with First Travel Solutions as part of a specified all-inclusive trip package delivered through First Travel Solutions. A maximum of one entry per school is allowed and a maximum of one voucher can be won per school establishment.

2.3 Criteria: By entering the free prize draw, each school entrant agrees, should they win one of the prizes, to commit to include a minimum of 30 pupils + 3 adults in their residential package booking. These are the minimum group numbers required to take part in a qualifying residential visit. The qualifying residential trips are to take place before 31st March 2027 – dates and venues are subject to availability. The £1,000 prize voucher will be deducted from the total cost of the all-inclusive residential trip package. The residential destinations included are Millport, Isle of Cumbrae – Langdale, Lake District – Whitby, N Yorks – Ravenstor, Peak District – Danbury Outdoors, Essex – Ilam Hall, Staffordshire and Preston Montford, Shropshire. Each venue provides accommodation, meals and activities as part of the residential package.

2.4 Consolation Discounts: Each school entering the prize draw competition will qualify for a £250 Consolation Discount should they not be one of the TEN lucky prize winning school entrants. The Consolation Discount can be used as a voucher reduction against any new 2 night / 3 day all-inclusive residential visit package at one of the listed destinations. The booking must be a package booked directly with First Travel Solutions and taken within 12 months of the closing date, and only ONE consolation discount per school establishment can be used against any future booking. All entrants eligible for a consolation discount will be contacted by email within 7 days of the closing date to receive their £250 discount voucher – contact details will be taken from the entry form.

3. How to Enter

3.1 The competition will run from 00:01 on Tuesday 1st September (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 on Wednesday 30th September (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

3.2 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter at https://www.firsttravelsolutions.com/fest/competition by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

3.3 To enter the competition:

  • Enter the competition by completing the entry form located on our website https://www.firsttravelsolutions.com/fest/competition and submit your School Name, School Address, School Type, Contact Name, Job Title and email address by the Closing Date.
  • No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to register your entry on the website.

3.4 The Promoter will not accept:

  • responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
  • proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

3.5 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.8 The competition entries will be entered into a free prize draw and the 10 winning school entrants will be picked at random by an independent prize draw generator. The result of the independent prize draw will be final.

4. Eligibility

4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except:

  1. employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
  2. employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
  3. members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible and authorised to enter the competition.

4.3 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:

  • automatically generated by computer;
  • completed by third parties or in bulk;
  • illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with;
  • photocopies and not originals; or
  • incomplete.

4.4 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per school establishment. Entries sent on behalf of another person / school establishment without prior consent will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

4.5 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify your entry if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

4.6 Competition entries cannot be returned.

5. The Prize

5.1 The prize is to win ONE of TEN £1,000 vouchers to be discounted from the overall cost of a First Travel Solutions all-inclusive residential school trip package. Ten winning school establishments will win one of these £1,000 vouchers.

5.2 The prize is not negotiable or transferable, and winning vouchers must be used against a residential trip package that takes place before 31st March 2027 and to be delivered at one of our 7 chosen residential destinations (Millport, Langdale, Whitby, Ravenstor, Danbury, Ilam Hall, Preston Montford). The winning schools must commit to minimum group numbers of 30 pupils + 3 adults for the residential visit. Larger group numbers are allowable subject to availability.

5.3 Consolation Discounts are not negotiable or transferable, and vouchers must be used against a residential trip package that takes place before 30th September 2027 and to be delivered at one of our 7 chosen residential destinations (Millport, Langdale, Whitby, Ravenstor, Danbury, Ilam Hall, Preston Montford). The schools claiming a consolation discount must commit to minimum group numbers of 30 pupils + 3 adults for the residential visit. Larger group numbers are allowable subject to availability.

6. Winners

6.1 The decision of Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.2 The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The Promoter will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.

6.3 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the school name and county location of each of the ten winning entrants within one calendar month of the closing date.

6.4 If you object to any or all of your school name, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter on 0203 467 2002. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Claiming the Prize

7.1 Please allow 7 days for confirmation of your winning entry – confirmation will be by either email or telephone on the details noted on your school entry form. If you are the winner of a prize, you will have 28 days from the Announcement Date to claim the prize. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.

7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

7.3 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If the winners cannot be contacted or are not available, or have not claimed their prize within 28 days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected at random from the entries that were received before the Closing Date.

7.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8. Limitation of Liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Ownership of Competition Entries and Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.

9.2 By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:

  • assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and
  • waive all moral rights,

in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

9.3 You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website www.firsttravelsolutions.com/fest and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.

10. Data Protection and Publicity

10.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the First Group plc Privacy Policy. See also 47.3 and 47.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

11. General

11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
