First Travel Solutions has assisted with transporting thousands of people to major events this summer, including; Leeds Festival, Boardmasters and Love Supreme; as well as supporting the Glasgow 2018 European Athletics Championships.
First Travel Solutions (FTS), one of the UK’s leading experts in transport management, is celebrating a summer of safely transporting over 100,000 passengers to major UK events including; Leeds Festival, Love Supreme and Boardmasters. FTS was also responsible for transporting the Athletes, Officials and Media to all the venues at the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
FTS helps to transport over a million customers every year, with a vision to deliver the best transport and travel management service to every single customer. This summer provided one of its biggest challenges yet, to support three of the biggest UK events in August, but the team are now celebrating success, as during the month of August alone, FTS successfully transported nearly 90,000 passengers.
Some of the key events supported include;
Leeds Festival (22nd – 27th August); over 350 buses were needed across six days to transport over 30,000 passengers, which equates to over 600 bus journeys.
Boardmasters Festival (8th – 12th August); transported over 50,000 festival goers to and from Newquay bus and train station to the festival site over the six days, in partnership with First Kernow and two local independent coach operators.
Glasgow 2018 (2nd August – 12th August); transported approximately 8500 athletes and team officials, and more than 300 technical officials across 60 services, with approximately 70 vehicles in operation per day. FTS also provided an integrated media transport service operating from the Media Hub to all competition venues during the Championships. Multiple vehicles were sourced to deliver the services including; buses, coaches, midi coaches and luxury vehicles.
Love Supreme Festival (29th June – 1st July) transported over 6,000 festival goers between Brighton train station and the festival site over the three days.

First Travel Solutions (FTS) will play their part in the upcoming Glasgow 2018 European Championships, transporting athletes and officials across Scotland for the exciting, multi-sport event.
The Championships will be held between 2-12 August, and is the moment people will proudly welcome Europe to Glasgow and Scotland, with 52 nations taking part across 12 sports and a potential TV audience of up to 1.03 billion.
Local roads and public transport are expected to be busier than usual, with thousands expected to attend events being held across the city.
FTS will transport approximately 8500 athletes and team officials, and more than 300 technical officials across 60 services, with approximately 70 vehicles in operation per day. Expert transport consultants from FTS have been working closely with the Glasgow 2018 team for the last 5 months. FTS will be in Glasgow for the event, with a 50-strong ground team including coordinators and managers.

We are pleased to welcome a new member to the Senior Leadership Team.
Rob Hughes has recently joined as Head of Operations as we look to strengthen, develop and grow our operational and service delivery experience to be the best that there is.
Delivering a better experience for the client and the end user is key to Rob’s role and Rob has had first-hand experience in Games Transport service delivery, working with Transport for London to strategically co-ordinate vehicles during the Olympic Games.
Rob previously worked at our parent company First Bus where he joined as Graduate Trainee in 2011, Rob went on to become a Senior Manager and was Awarded ‘Young Manager of the Year’ and CILT recognition. Rob continues his professional development today as he studies for his MBA.
Rob holds a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence and is keen to deliver a high quality, efficient and compliant service.
Rob said “I am excited to join First Travel Solutions at what is going to be a time of expansion – with new contract wins in rail replacement and also supporting the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, it is going to be another busy Summer.”

The new partnership with Autocab will improve the customer experience with the introduction of a new automated booking process.
First Travel Solutions, one of the UK’s leading experts in transport management, has expanded its taxi booking system for its clients, through a new partnership with market-leading booking & dispatch specialists, Autocab.
The strategic partnership with Autocab enhances First Travel Solutions taxi network and will allow the business to introduce an automated booking process for taxi operators using Autocab’s dispatch solution. The integration will create seamless, automated end-to-end booking processes, delivering a wide range of benefits, including real-time passenger information and administration efficiencies.
The partnership will also deliver a range of benefits to the overall passenger experience, including; quick access to vehicle make, model and colour through vehicle and journey information, as well as complete transparency of the journey through real time passenger information using Google Maps.
