Gareth Evans, Editor of Coach & Bus Week (CBW) magazine paid FTS a visit recently at our offices in Simonstone.
FTS has undergone a significant amount of change in the last 18 months including a rebrand with new logos, a new website and much more.
Our marketing support agency Buzz Marketing, worked with Gareth and his team at CBW to ensure the FTS transition story was told in the publication. The end result was a 6 page feature in the issue dated 31st October 2017.
You can view the article online at http://www.cbwmagazine.com Thanks for Gareth and to Buzz Marketing.
The nationwide FirstGroup Excellence Awards were held earlier this year. The awards recognise outstanding achievements where First Bus staff have excelled over the year, gone above and beyond the call of duty and done an all round fantastic job.
As well as recognising individuals, the awards acknowledge people and teams who excel in what they do.
First Travel Solutions (FTS) had a total of 9 finalists entered for this year's awards. The following staff won or were highly commended within their award category.
Quantum Leap Award - Highly Commended - Masood Bakhsh, Control Duty Manager
Employee Engagement Award - Winner - Katie Elsworth, HR Manager
Safety Award - Winner - FTS Champions League Final team
Sustainability Award - Highly Commended - First Travel Solutions company wide award (collected by Gregg Nolan and Lisa Bennison)
Heroes Roll of Honour - Kelly Ferguson, Control Duty Manager
Richard Kirk, Commercial Director for FTS said; "There were 26 First Bus staff awarded with hero awards on the evening for bravery and service to others.
These awards are all about recognising the commitment and hard work of all our staff not just the winners on the evening.
Anyone within the company can nominate colleagues for an award across 15 categories. What's even more pleasing is that for every nomination received, First Bus donate £5 to Prostate Cancer UK, their charity partner."
First Travel Solutions (FTS) will once again exhibit at this year's World Travel Market at London's ExCeL venue from the 6th until the 8th of November.

Thanks to a consolidated team effort we not only delivered transport for these 2 major music festivals, we also continued to deliver daily transport for all our regular clients too."

It meant that the team at FTS has been flat out creating event timetables, recruiting vehicles and drivers as well as assisting people on the ground.

Richard Kirk, Commercial Director for First Travel Solutions comments; "It was a real honour to be involved in this world class event where some of the best para athletes in the world were competing."
In August, FTS then supported the IAAF World Championships that took place at the Queen Elizabeth Park in London. FTS supported the event organisers with on the ground transport requirements.
Once the sporting events were over, the team then turned their attention to some large scale music festivals.
We've had a really busy summer but there's no rest for the team at First Travel Solutions (FTS).
