Earlier this year First Travel Solutions (FTS) were awarded the contract by Vision Nine to support short bus operations for the 2017 Boardmasters Festival.
The Boardmasters Festival is an annual event held in Cornwall. The event is a combination of live music and surfing/skateboarding competitions in and around the town of Newquay.
Over the duration of the event FTS moved almost 50,000 festivalgoers in 135 vehicles with a total of 1,000 journeys made. In addition to this, FTS recruited additional staff to manage the crowds and to assist with selling relevant event tickets.
For the second year running FTS were awarded the contract to operate bus services for festivalgoers attending the 2017 Leeds Music Festival. Leeds Music Festival has become an iconic event hosting rock, pop. indie, electronic and alternative music all under one banner.
Working with organisers Festival Republic, FTS were asked to deliver multiple transport solutions for this event. Over the 6-day festival FTS transported approximately 25,000 festivalgoers. Over 450 vehicles and drivers were recruited to support the transport operations. Additional FTS staff were recruited to support on the ground at train stations, city centre pick up points and of course to assist with selling wristbands to festivalgoers.
