The Business Travel Show (BTS), held annually in London for more than 20 years is Europe’s largest specialised exhibition and conference bringing together 7,730 European travel professionals. This year’s event was held at Olympia in London on 22nd and 23rd February.

At FTS, we had the opportunity to showcase our products and services at this show where we decided to share a stand with a fellow member of the First Group family, Great Western Railways (GWR).

The BTS is firmly positioned in the ‘must go to’ events for the sector and it showed, with a large number of contacts and enquiries being made from a variety of different client groups including business travel agencies, event organisers and businesses themselves.

Bus and coach transport can often by viewed as the ‘Cinderella’ part of the product mix and can lag behind the airlines and hotels in the glamour stakes of the business travel market.

However, we would argue at FTS that our services are very often the vital glue that can hold an entire event together. This was borne out in the numerous conversations we had over the 2-day event.

At the show, we were able to explain to our stand visitors why using FTS as a one stop solution for a multitude of travel scenarios works to the advantage of everyone. We can take all the worry away from sourcing, managing and monitoring the transport requirements at the sharp end.

After all, fretting about the type of canapés your clients will have at the conference reception is all very well but isn’t much good if they get there late because of poor transport planning.

Our staff manning the stand for the 2 day exhibition had incredibly sore feet by the time the event was finished – always a good sign – right?!
